What supervisors can look forward to in 2023
A2ii is developing its sex-disaggregated data toolkit for insurance supervisors. The toolkit integrates key indicators that supervisors can collect to measure the contribution of their insurance sector to SDG 5 Gender Equality.
What you can try already
Try out our gender maturity assessment tool. This tool helps insurance supervisors rapidly assess their gender maturity, i.e. how well gender is integrated into their regulatory and supervisory work, including their organisational makeup. You will find the tool in our training module 'How to conduct a rapid gender diversity assessment'.
Take the training module on 'Applying a gender lens to inclusive insurance' – A2ii raises awareness and builds the capacity of supervisors about the gender-specific barriers to insurance access faced by women, as well as the market potential for providing inclusive insurance for women. Our training module examines some of the myths and biases that can get in the way of considering women’s market potential.
Check out our recent case studies - A2ii has published two case studies on gender and inclusive insurance, providing examples of innovative approaches to inclusive insurance targeting women customers and involving insurance supervisors in the process. Find out
- how insurance supervisors from India drove the development and testing of the prototype of a combi-product aimed at women customers.
- about the Argentinian ‘women and insurance’ initiative, an awareness raising and a women-centric approach to product and services development.
Read our recent blog - an interview with Katherine Miles and Manoj Pandey, authors of the recent A2ii report 'The Role of Insurance Supervisors in Boosting Women’s Access to Insurance' (available in English, French, and Spanish). Read more to find out the potential of women’s insurance and the regulatory and supervisory approaches that have the potential to facilitate women's access to inclusive insurance, improving financial resilience and advancing the cause of gender equality.
